Fakel corporate festival finals to be held in Gelendzhik

Gelendzhik will host the final round of the 4th Fakel corporate festival among amateur creative teams and performers from Gazprom’s subsidiary companies and organizations.
The festival finals will take place in Kuban for the fourth time and bring together over 1.5 thousand guests and participants from more than 25 Russian regions as well as artistic delegations from France and China. 34 teams from Gazprom’s subsidiaries will be admitted to the final round.
The festival will be opened on May 15 by a spectacular carnival procession. The participants will walk along the city embankment from the Kavkaz recreation center (the festival venue) to the city’s central square. The finalists of the 3rd Fakel festival, creative teams from Krasnodar and Gelendzhik will perform here.
The festival will also include a presentation of its former host cities and the cities that have made a great contribution to its development: Novy Urengoy, Tomsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Astrakhan, etc.
Between May 16 and 18 the participants will compete in four main nominations: instrumental performance, choreography, vocal and circus performance.
The winners will be announced on May 19. The festival closing ceremony will take place on May 20 in the city’s central square.
Background
Fakel is a corporate festival among amateur creative teams and performers from Gazprom’s subsidiary companies and organizations. The idea to launch a corporate festival was put forward by Gazprom’s workers and supported by its management. In December 2003 the Gazprom Management Committee endorsed the Resolution on Arranging the Fakel Corporate Festival among Amateur Creative Teams and Performers from Gazprom’s Subsidiary Companies and Organizations.
The three-round Festival is conducted on a biennial basis. In the first round the best performers from Gazprom’s subsidiaries are selected for the zonal festivals. The zonal festivals (southern and northern zones) represent the second round. The zonal festival winners take part in the final third round.
Gazprom transgaz Kuban was authorized to be the festival host company. The zonal rounds of the 4th festival took place in Nizhny Novgorod (November 2010) and Tomsk (February 2011).
The festival jury was represented by reputed Russian arts and culture workers: Svyatoslav Belza, People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Television Academy (jury chairman); Aleksandra Permyakova, People’s Artist of Russia, Winner of the Russian Federation Prize, Professor, Director of the Pyatnitsky State Academic Russian Folk Choir; Semyon Milstein, Distinguished Artist of Russia, Head of the Big Band, Member of the International Trumpet Guild; Mikhail Vysotsky, stage director, Distinguished Arts Worker, winner of state and international prizes; Vladimir Andryukin, winner of the USSR and international ballet dance competitions, choreographer, Artistic Director of the Zvyozdny Express dance theater; Alexander Korginov, choreographer, teacher, Artistic Drector of the Mirazh ballet, jury member and choreographer of the Tantsy bez Pravil project, choreographer of the Narodny Artist project and others.
