The Baramzy gas distribution station (GDS) and the gas lateral to the Baramzy settlement from the Okhansk – Kirov gas pipeline were put on-stream on March 10, 2011. The Kirov Trunkline Operation Center, a branch of Gazprom transgaz Nizhny Novgorod, will operate these facilities.

The Baramzy GDS commissioning ceremony was attended by Nikita Belykh, Governor of the Kirov Oblast and Igor Schegolev, Director General of Gazprom transgaz Nizhny Novgorod.

The Baramzy GDS capacity makes up 32.9 thousand cubic meters per hour. The GDS and over 26 kilometer-long gas lateral will allow gasifying 26 population centers of the Slobodsky District in the Kirov Oblast and 5 residential districts in the Zarechnaya area of the Kirov city.

The total investments in the facilities construction exceeded RUB 1.5 billion.

Background

Gazprom transgaz Nizhny Novgorod is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. It bares responsibility for over 12 thousand kilometers of gas trunklines and laterals, 50 compressor shops ensuring gas transmission to Central Russia. Gas is delivered to consumers in 13 regions of the country by 367 gas distribution stations.
