The chapel is founded at the premises of the war memorial in the Barsuki settlement, Mosalsk District, Kaluga Oblast in memory of the Red Army soldiers and commanders who heroically battled with Nazi invaders. Scouting forces working in the Mosalsk District are still finding the remains of the soldiers killed between 1942 and 1943. Search raids are arranged every year on the eve of the war beginning.
