In January 2011 Gazprom UGS summarized the results of a New Year charity event arranged for children from economically disadvantaged families and social rehabilitation educational institutions.

On the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays representatives from the Gazprom UGS branches visited their sponsored organizations. These visits were tasked to provide financial support in order to buy equipment, furniture, medicine and educational toys contributing to rehabilitation of disabled children as well as to arrange the New Year festive events with gifts for orphans and children from economically disadvantaged and large families.
Over 1,000 children received gifts during the charity event with financial support given to 39 child welfare institutions in the regions where the company’s branches are located.
Background
Gazprom UGS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, was established on March 19, 2007 as part of Gazprom’s corporate governance structure streamlining. The company unified Russian underground gas storage facilities within its structure. The objective of the company is to establish the natural gas storage business. Among the core activities of Gazprom UGS are gas injection, storage and withdrawal from underground facilities.
