On April 15 Gazprom VNIIGAZ hosted a meeting initiated by the Council of Young Researchers and Professionals. The meeting was devoted to the 50th anniversary of the first manned space flight.
Sergey Ryzhikov and Oleg Artemyev, cosmonauts from Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center; Pyotr Korvyakov, First Deputy Director General of Gazprom Space Systems; Sergey Kozlov (Doctor or Engineering) Chief Researcher of the Gas Utilization Center under Gazprom VNIIGAZ attended the meeting as distinguished guests.
During the meeting the guests looked back at their past together with the young professionals of the institute and shared their ideas about the latest achievements and the vision of the space research development in relation with the modern space science.
As the Great Gas Age coincided with and the early Space Age, the meeting participants gave special consideration to oil and gas fields development with the use of space technologies.

Gazprom VNIIGAZ, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, represents the Company’s research center elaborating and designing technologies for the gas industry including those for gas fields exploration and development; offshore petroleum resources development; gas treatment and processing; regulatory support, designing and operating the gas transmission and underground storage system; mathematic modeling and information technologies; natural gas vehicles.

Playing a crucial role in meeting these objectives, the Council of Young Researchers and Professionals, and the Youth Academic Council improve vocational skills and personal qualities of young professionals, support and develop a pro-active approach to the scientific, social and cultural life in Gazprom VNIIGAZ.
