On April 16 concreting of the foundation monolithic grillage was carried out for one of the four blocks of the water sports center in Irkutsk. Over 1,500 cubic meters of concrete are to be used for creating the foundation.
Since the construction startup the Gazprom dobycha Irkutsk contractors have implemented 18,000 cubic meters of earthwork operations on creating the foundation of the water sports center and installed 895 12-meter piles. The construction operations are carried out by specialized organizations of the Irkutsk Oblast.
Background
Being a member of the committee organizing preparations for the 350th anniversary of Irkutsk, Gazprom invests in the water sports center construction.
The water sports center will serve as a training venue for Russian and foreign sports teams, host water sports competitions including international events as well as swimming and gymnastics classes for children and adults. Construction operations will be completed in 2012.
Set up on October 25, 2000, Gazprom dobycha Irkutsk is a 100 percent subsidiary of Gazprom. Gazprom dobycha Irkutsk performs exploration in licensed blocks, acts as the contractor to design and construct pre-development facilities at Gazprom-owned gas condensate fields in the Irkutsk Oblast as well as to build non-industrial facilities.
The September 2007 Order by the Russian Federation Industry and Energy Ministry approved the Development Program for an integrated gas production, transportation and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia-Pacific countries (Eastern Gas Program). Gazprom was appointed by the Russian Federation Government as the Program execution coordinator.
The Eastern Gas Program envisages construction of the Irkutsk gas production center.
