1989
The USSR Gas Industry Ministry was restructured into Gazprom State Gas Concern.
1992
On November 5 the Decree of the Russian Federation President on Reorganization of Gazprom State Gas Concern into Russian Joint Stock Company Gazprom was signed. On February 17, 1993 the relevant Resolution of the Russian Federation Government was issued.
1993–1994
Gazprom signed the Agreement of Cooperation with Gaz de France and the Agreement on Gas Supply to Finland for a 20-year period with Neste.
1995
On May 31 Gazprom held its first annual General Shareholders Meeting. Nearly one thousand shareholders and their proxies representing a total of 67.85 per cent of votes took part in the Meeting. The participants set up a Board of Directors and elected an Audit Commission. International company PricewaterhouseCoopers was appointed as the Gazprom’s auditor.
