- developing the organized gas trading activities, including the improvement of gas exchange trading activities on a day-ahead or month-ahead basis;
- improving the rate-setting system for gas transmission services;
- creating market approaches to gas pricing;

Gas distribution
Gazprom is the leader of Russia's gas distribution sector.
As of late 2023, the Gazprom Group's gas distribution subsidiaries and affiliates owned and operated 900.8 thousand kilometers of gas distribution networks in the Russian Federation.
Foreign markets
A considerable increase in the demand for Russian gas abroad was driven by the Chinese market, the most dynamic gas market in the world. In 2023, following China’s requests, gas exports via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline repeatedly exceeded Gazprom’s daily contractual obligations.
In 2023, natural gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline grew by over 47 per cent compared to 2022, amounting to 22.73 billion cubic meters of gas.
The total amount of gas supplies in 2023 significantly exceeded the planned contractual figures. The Company has once again proven its reputation as a responsible supplier.
